Get Acquainted Party 

This year’s GAP, sponsored by CaptionCall will feature the sights and sounds of one of America’s most beloved sketch-comedy television programs, Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. Grab your bell bottoms, go-go boots, and head scarves because you’ll want to fit in! The party would not be complete without music, skits, frosty malts and shakes, and flashy costume awards. You won’t want to miss this exciting kick off to the Convention—set in, where else, but “beautiful downtown Burbank.”

An Evening with Mandy Harvey

Mandy Harvey is an award-winning singer, songwriter and motivational speaker who just happens to have a hearing loss. Her appearance on America’s Got Talent got her the “golden buzzer” from Simon Cowell to pass to the next round. The emotional video of her performance went viral, touching people all over the world. Besides America’s Got Talent, Mandy has been featured on the Today Show, The Dr. Oz Show, Access Hollywood, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt and so much more.

West Side Story at the Guthrie Theater

Be sure to purchase a ticket to the world-class theatrical production of West Side Story at the Guthrie Theater Saturday evening! The theater will be looped by Contacta, captioned and sign language interpretation will be available for those who need it. Please send your requests to convention@hearingloss.org by June 1 at the latest.Transportation to and from the theater will be provided.

State & Chapter Leaders: Learn how to Revitalize Passion through Leadership with Karen Putz


We are thrilled to announce that Karen Putz will be presenting this year's Leadership Workshop, Leading with Passion on Wednesday, June 20 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Karen is known as "The Passion Mentor" and is the author of "Unwrapping Your Passion, Creating the Life You Truly Want." Karen works for Hands & Voices as the co-Director of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Infusion. She’s been featured on ESPN, PBS, CNN, and more.

In this interactive workshop, Karen will show how you how to tap into the energy of passion and use it as fuel to become the best possible leader you can be. Visit the Convention page for more information about Karen and this session.
