I'm pleased to announce CapTel Captioned Telephone as Presenting Sponsor of Experience HLAA! Like you, our plans for this summer were interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. While absolutely necessary, the cancellation of the HLAA2020 Convention has been deeply disappointing for our community. I've heard from many of our members who are sad to miss the Convention and the information, resources, and support that it offers.

CapTel has lightened our disappointment by stepping up as presenting sponsor of Experience HLAA! This online event in June will bring you highlights of the HLAA Convention including featured guest David Owen, a research symposium, several workshops, and a technology expo.

CapTel and its inventor, Ultratec, have long been champions of people with hearing loss, our organization, and you, our members. Since HLAA's beginning in 1979, Ultratec's founder Rob Engelke and his staff across the country have worked alongside us to ensure access to telecommunications. We share the common goal of helping people with hearing loss have every means possible to stay in the mainstream of life. Captioned telephone service (IP CTS) is even more critical now when people are relying on phone calls to stay connected to their doctors, financial institutions, families and friends.

CapTel has stood by our members for years knowing our philosophy of giving people the best information that allows them to make choices of how to live well with hearing loss. CapTel is right there with us today – as are many of our supporters and sponsors – who are doing all they can to help people with hearing loss overcome the added challenges of this global pandemic.

The Presenting Sponsor was inadvertently incorrectly listed in yesterday's early-morning edition of Hearing Life e-News. This was corrected in the mid-morning edition and we are sorry for any misunderstanding.

I want to acknowledge how important all of our sponsors are to us as they help us bring you the best programs to keep you connected.

Kind regards,

Barbara Kelley
Executive Director
